Orders Of Protection

 

NOTE: ORDERS OF PROTECTION MAY BE ISSUED BY ANY COURT IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA

Orders of Protection may be obtained at the Court Monday through Friday. We strongly suggest that you contact the court at (520) 917-1568 prior to you appearing. The Judge may be in court or dealing with other issues, and you may have to wait a substantial amount of time before seeing him/her.

Orders of Protection are issued only based on the following relations:

  • Against your current or former spouse
  • An intimate partner with whom you live with or lived with
  • One party pregnant by the other party or someone you have a child in common with
  • One of your relatives or spouse's relatives

The Court must know if there are any other court orders or court proceedings regarding the defendant in the order. IF THERE IS A DIVORCE PENDING, ORDERS MUST BE OBTAINED THROUGH THE PIMA COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT.

Upon your prepared statement, a review by the Judge and discussion with you regarding the matter, an Order of Protection may be given. There is no fee for the order. You may contact the court at (520) 917-1568 for more information.

Protective Orders are valid for one year from the date it is served on the defendant and is enforceable by law enforcement in any state or tribal nation in the United States.  It is the Petitioner’s responsibility to have a copy of the Order served upon the defendant.
